STEVEN C. JOHNSON, AIA

Associate & Project Manager

Steve joined Tuck-Hinton Architects in 1996. He is an Associate and Project Manager, and his outstanding creativity is applied at all stages of design and through construction. Steve’s demonstrated commitment to design excellence combined with his technical expertise has given him broad experience which enables him to visualize, communicate, and implement ideas. His contributions at the Brooks Fiber Properties World Headquarters, Frist Center for the Visual Arts, and Vanderbilt University Buttrick Hall confirm his extensive creative energy during all phases of design and construction.

Steve received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Tennessee in 1986. He returned to his hometown of Nashville and joined the Nashville office of the New York-based Ehrenkrantz Group where he gained broad technical experience working on projects at University School of Nashville, Vanderbilt University, Nashville’s Juvenile Detention Center, and Jersey City’s Port Liberté, a Venice-like development on the Hudson River.

As an Associate with Tuck-Hinton Architects, he ensures that projects reach their full potential through processes that enable principals and professional staff to focus their energy on specific areas of expertise. Steve believes the design process is similar to the formation of sculpture which continues to be molded and developed. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Nashville Urban Design Forum. Steve devotes considerable time and energy to his church, and he has traveled on mission trips to Russia, Armenia, and Brazil. He is also an avid illustrator and painter.
