CHUCK MILLER, AIA

Principal

Since joining the firm in 1994, Chuck has been involved in a leadership position with many of Tuck-Hinton Architects repeat clients, notably Lipscomb University and the Adventure Science Center. These clients rely upon his strengths in planning and organizing for developing a long term vision, which is then used to define a design strategy for the implementation of projects. In addition to developing the conceptual design for the master plan at Lipscomb University, Chuck has been instrumental in the design of major facilities and improvements on the growing campus.

After graduating from the University of Michigan in 1993 with a Master of Architecture degree, Chuck spent several months working with Mayotte + Jacob Architects. In early 1994, he moved south to Nashville and joined Tuck-Hinton Architects due to its reputation and emphasis on design excellence.

As one of the firm’s Owners, Chuck’s responsibilities include overseeing the firm’s commitment to project management and technical processes with an emphasis on maintaining its documentation standards and quality assurance for individual projects. In addition to his leadership position at Tuck-Hinton Architects, Chuck is actively involved as a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Nashville Urban Design Forum, and he participated in several of the workshops for the ambitious Plan of Nashville endeavor. During the summer of 2005, he joined the Board of Directors at Benton Hall School; he now serves as Secretary/Treasurer of the Board. Other interests outside of the firm include playing the guitar and listening to music; he enjoys the creative and structural relationships that are common to both architecture and music.
